George was the Chairman of the Friends of Muswell Hill Library from 2015 to 2022. In 2016-7 he led a campaign to save the library from closure, which was successful.
George was the Events & Publicity officer for the Muswell Hill & Fortis Green Association (MHFGA) from 2017 to 2022. George also co-ordinated their fund which distributes money to local projects which benefit the community.
George is a Labour Party activist and spent one year as the Secretary of Muswell Hill branch. He stood as a Labour Party candidate, in the 2022 Local Elections. He was standing for election in the Alexandra Park ward of the London Borough of Haringey. George lost out to the Liberal Democrat incumbent by a margin of 118 votes.
George recently spent three years as a Trustee at Jacksons Lane, which is one of North London’s premier arts and cultural organisations, and a world leader in circus and other forms of physical theatre.
For several years George ran the popular and well-respected Facebook group ‘Muswell Hill & Friends‘, which has 30,000 members.
